Jackson Shelstad is West Linn, Oregon royalty: a two-time Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year who averaged 28.2 points as a senior and, that same fall, started at cornerback for West Linn's 6A state-champion football team. Upgraded to five-star status by Rivals, he stayed home to play for Oregon. In his first career start, on December 2, 2023, the freshman buried a deep three with 1.4 seconds left in overtime to beat Michigan 86-83, and he finished the year on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team at 12.8 points per game. He averaged 13.7 as a sophomore across 35 starts, then opened 2025-26 with career highs, 15.6 points and 4.9 assists, despite a hand injury suffered during the first week of practice. He reinjured the hand against Omaha in late December, ending his junior season at 12 games. Shelstad committed to Louisville in April 2026, rated the No. 17 player in the portal, calling the Cardinals a "perfect fit."
