Isaac Ellis built his name in the Overtime Elite league, where the Hickory, North Carolina point guard played for YNG Dreamerz out of Moravian Prep while amassing more than one million TikTok followers. The 6-foot-1 guard set OTE's single-game scoring record with 56 points and became the league's all-time assists leader, then followed his older brother Eli, a two-time OTE MVP now at South Carolina, by winning the award himself in 2025-26, averaging 29.3 points, 8.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. His recruitment turned twice: originally committed to South Carolina, he decommitted in November 2025 and reclassified from 2026 to 2027, citing programs' shift toward the transfer portal, then committed to Pat Kelsey's Cardinals on December 15 after a visit. In June 2026 he reversed course again, reclassifying back to 2026 and enrolling at Louisville for the 2026-27 season alongside fellow freshman Obinna Ekezie Jr.
